Healthy and Vibrant Communities
The William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications is committed to initiatives that enhance communities and support healthy students. Students grow in their craft and understanding of diverse communities, and our local citizens benefit from staying up to date on local news when we take the classroom into the community through projects like the Eudora Times. Another example is Good Morning Indian Country, the only student-led Native American news show in the country.
Research and Discovery
The school of journalism and mass communications leads in research and discovery in the field of media literacy. The Center for Digital Inclusion is changing lives through a digital literacy training program for women transitioning from incarceration back into the community.
The Center for Excellence in Health Communication to Underserved Populations is a comprehensive center addressing communication about health promotion and disease prevention to at-risk populations locally, nationally and internationally.
