Politics is an opportunity to connect across differences.
The Dole Institute connects KU students to unique programs and opportunities that emphasize bipartisan cooperation, public service, and civic education and engagement. We notably do this through our Student Advisory Board and the KU Civic Engagement and Leadership Council, fostering research and engagement with the Dole Archives, and collaborate with partners across campus and beyond to connect students to established and emerging leaders, practitioners, and experts in a variety of fields.
Your gift to the Dole Institute during this year’s One Day One KU campaign will support student programs and experiential learning opportunities like:
- Participate in the University of Chicago Institute of Politics Policy Challenge Super Bowl, a national policy writing competition
- Launch a new student-driven podcast, From the Balcony, a new way to hear from leaders across Kansas and nationwide
- Create a space for students to have open dialogue through our Politics Unplugged series, a student-only program moderated by Dole Fellows
- Lead annual voter engagement initiatives on campus, in which the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge recognized a KU student for their work in helping organize KU Civic Engagement and Leadership Month
- Debate a timely issue with mentoring support from practicing litigators in The Counselors program in partnership with Washburn University.
- Engage in a student exchange with the Georgetown University McCourt School Institute of Politics
All of this work is made possible by supporters like you. Join us as we model bipartisanship, civil discourse, and public service through student programs and experiential learning opportunities unique to the Dole Institute.
